Selecting Blinds
A window blind is a specific type of window covering which is made with slats of fabric, wood, plastic or metal that adjust by rotating from an open position to a closed position by allowing slats to overlap. Window blinds reduce the heat from sunlight.
Window blinds can be manually drawn using a cord, or automated through motorization. A window blind is a means of screening a window, achieving similar results to those obtained by fitting curtains. Blinds are typically the same width and height as the window itself or slightly wider and taller - depending on whether they are fixed inside or outside the window's reveal.
Advantages of using blinds
Window blinds have varying thermal effects: they can block unwanted heat of the summer sun and they can keep in heat in cold weather. But in both of these applications, they also reduce light to varying degrees, depending on the design. Many kinds of blinds attempt varying balances of privacy and shade. Blinds can be made of a number of different materials and manufactured in a number of different ways. This usually determines the name by which the blind is commonly known.

These blinds are generally more expensive than curtains, drapes and plastic blinds and yet, they have a lot of advantages to them such as durability, low maintenance and better control over light.
Even though the blinds are treated, we usually do not advise our customers to put the blinds in high humidity areas. It is important to note that if you are to fit the blinds inside the window frame, there should be a minimum of 50mm space to fit the rail in.

The vanes can be rotated 180 degrees which allows for excellent light and air flow control and also allow for a level of privacy control that cannot be achieved with traditional horizontal window blinds. Generally vertical blinds as compared to horizontal ones require less muscle strength, and are faster to operate.
It is important to note that if you are to fit the blinds inside the window frame, there should be a minimum of 35mm space to fit the rail in.
